On 5 June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain issued statements cutting ties with Qatar - allegedly as a response to what is said to be Qatar's attempts to destabilise the region by funding Islamic militants.


Over the past two weeks, a coalition of Gulf states led by Saudi Arabia has imposed various restrictions on dealings with Qatar. This article looks at the implications for the region's shipping industry.
