Five key trends in Middle East construction disputes: how to avoid the most common pitfalls

This report is based on an in-depth annual study which provides insight into underlying market conditions and behaviours that are driving construction disputes across the Middle East.

Unsurprisingly, one of the biggest issues observed in the Middle East is the impact that a sustained low oil price is having on the construction industry. The positive news is that we are starting to see disputes in the Middle East resolved more expediently than in previous years.

Key findings from this year's research include: the average value of construction disputes in the Middle East is significantly lower in 2016; basic contract understanding is still at the heart of many disputes in the Middle East; and the public sector saw the greatest volume of disputes in 2016.
